â–º European stocks are little changed, failing to benefit from yesterday's positive close in New York, which was driven by a few stocks, particularly Nvidia

â–º Asian stocks are mixed, with the Hang Seng closing sharply weaker again at -1.93%

â–º UK retail sales rose 0.5% in April 2023, recovering from a 1.2% decline in March and beating market expectations of 0.3% growth, driven by a 1.0% increase in non-food retail, a 0.7% increase in grocery and 0.2% growth in online retail, despite a 2.2% decline in fuel sales due to April's bad weather and lower fuel prices

â–º Market sentiment in Europe/Eurozone remains subdued as Chinese markets show strong signs of weakness, expectations for an ECB and Bank of England rate hike increase, Germany is in a technical recession (GDP growth q/q negative for two consecutive quarters), and high core inflation persists.
